Fit complaints are almost never about size
A garment can measure correctly and still feel wrong. Nearly every time, the block is the reason.
When a garment comes back with a fit complaint, the instinct is to check the size chart. It is almost never the size chart.
It is the block — the shape underneath the measurements. A block developed for one market and rescaled for another gives you sleeves that read short, a rise that sits wrong, or a jacket that fits the chest and misses the shoulder entirely.
What we do instead
- Separate base blocks per market, rather than one converted set
- We will rebuild a block from a garment you already sell and are happy with
- Every fitting is minuted with photographs and the exact change agreed
- Approved blocks are stored, so next season starts from a known garment
By the third sample the conversation is usually about millimetres. That is the point at which you have something worth making.
